Abstract
This paper will provide an overview of the processes taken and lessons learned through the design, construction, and commissioning of the Wet Weather Expansion Project (WWEP) at the Hartford Water Pollution Control Facility (HWPCF) which more than doubled the preliminary and primary treatment capacity to 200 mgd, introduced chemically enhanced primary treatment and high rate wet weather disinfection as part of the District’s Clean Water Program to eliminate SSOs and reduce CSOs.
