Abstract
Converting a nitrification facility to a facility that achieves nitrogen and phosphorus removal can often require a significant amount of new infrastructure for a facility. The Trinity River Authority of Texas implemented an eight-year program to understand nutrient removal at low dissolved oxygen (DO) concentrations. The result is the design and operation of a small-footprint, high performance facility.
