Energy Master Plans Showing the Path Forward for Resilient Onsite Power Generation and Biogas to RNG Projects
Abstract
This paper was presented at WEFTEC 2023 in Chicago, IL.
This paper illustrates planning-level analyses that utilities can use to develop the most sustainable and resilient Energy Master Plans using digester gas (DG) and food waste co-digestion to find the most beneficial digester gas use options and integrate renewable energy sources including solar photovoltaics and energy storage. A novel approach using the Blue Plan-it® modeling tool in combination with solar PV (Helioscope) and microgrid modeling (HOMER Grid) is presented.
