Advancing Nutrient Trading within the Circular Water Economy
The Advancing Nutrient Trading within the Circular Water Economy workshop, held on May 28, 2025, at the CSWEA conference, was co-hosted by WEF and CSWEA with support from the Walton Family Foundation. The session convened utilities, regulators, and agricultural partners to explore how nutrient trading and resource recovery can reduce waste, cut fertilizer use, and improve water quality. Participants discussed policy, case studies, and technical tools to scale these solutions. WEF plans to replicate this model nationally to accelerate adoption and foster cross-sector collaboration.
