Description: Exploring the Benefits of Internally Stored Carbon for Nutrient Removal
Exploring the Benefits of Internally Stored Carbon for Nutrient Removal
Abstract
Discover the future of nutrient removal during this knowledge development session. Join us as we explore how harnessing internally stored carbon (ISC) can improve BNR processes. This session will highlight innovative strategies to achieve lower nutrient discharges, cut energy usage, and maximize the value of wastewater carbon-without the high costs and drawbacks of external carbon addition. Learn how ISC, stored by bacteria as glycogen and PHAs, unlocks new pathways to boost both nitrogen and phosphorus removal and enhance sludge densification. Gain insights into the real-world benefits, challenges, and implementation strategies for ISC-driven BNR, and leave with actionable guidance to optimize your plant's performance and sustainability.
