Navigating State Biosolids and Fertilizer Requirements: Milorganite® Distribution in the United States
Abstract
Selling and distributing biosolids as a fertilizer across state lines is a complex process that involves meeting all federal and state requirements for both biosolids and fertilizer products. This paper will present our laboratory perspective on the various challenges faced in order to distribute Milorganite®, a class A biosolids fertilizer, across the United States. It will focus on the characteristics and analytes tested on Milorganite®, laboratory requirements, and the various and varying procedures used to test the product.
