Abstract
As we move further and further into an era where knowledge is characterized as the critical resource for business activity, the water utility industry is also at a generational crossroads. The long-term utility industry employees of the last 20 to 30 years encompass a majority of the institutional memory for the industry through some significant leaps and bounds of technology. These same employees are retiring in great numbers, and that knowledge which is “inside their heads” is retiring with them. How do we try to capture at least some of that knowledge for the people coming up behind the ones who retire?
