Lessons Learned from Five Years of Operational History at the Kuhn Drain CSO Retention Treatment Facility

This paper provides a retrospective view of the design and operation of the George W. Kuhn (GWK) Retention Treatment Facility (RTF) after five years of operating experience. The design goals and basis of design for the new facility are reviewed to document what was deemed important at the design stage. The focus of the paper will be the five-year operational history of the facility and the insights from the operators on what has worked well and what could have been done better with the intent of providing insights to future designs from an operator's perspective.
