Kara Dean, M.S., is a doctoral student in the Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Department at Michigan State University. She has been supporting Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment research in the Mitchell lab for the past six years, and her previous research projects addressed dose response and exposure scenarios for premise plumbing-relevant pathogens. Her current work is focused on reducing the uncertainty associated with pathogen persistence in surface water matrices.
