Expertise in chemical engineering (BEng and PhD), biotechnology (MBiotech), and ecological engineering. My current research lines include both engineering and inter/transdisciplinary projects. I focus on water reuse in basic and applied research projects with the aim of making on-site water reclamation technologically feasible, scalable and socially acceptable. I also study on-site water management and reuse as a resilience-building adaptation to climate change and other current megatrends. I have conducted this work within the field of ecological engineering and through inter and transdisciplinary approaches.

In addition, I have industry experience in the municipal and biopharmaceutical sectors. I have collaborated on sustainable and resilient community-based urbanization projects, process design of municipal wastewater treatments and asset management. I have also worked in the downstream purification of biopharmaceuticals.
